Paul Yates

Head of Pro Bono, Freshfields

Paul runs Freshfields’ pro bono practice. Freshfields acts for a wide range of pro bono clients, from some of the world’s largest international NGOs to individual victims of human trafficking.

For many years Paul appeared as an advocate at the asylum support tribunal. He also acts for victims of human trafficking, and is closely involved in developing the firm’s third-party intervention practice.

Paul is also a member of the firm’s Global Business and Human Rights group, with a particular focus on advising businesses on their approach to modern slavery.

Paul is a member of the Access to Justice Committee of the Law Society of England and Wales, and chair of the AIRE Centre.
